Unlocking the Secrets of Google Workspace for Education and Achieving 100% Google Certified

February 25, 2024 – On Saturday evening, February 24, 2024, educators from Indonesia and Malaysia came together once again for Malindo Connect Series 2. This inspiring event was a collaboration between GEG (Google Educator Group) Indonesia and GEG Malaysia, featuring two outstanding speakers:

Maulana Ayub, Leader of GEG Sidoarjo Indonesia, opened the participants' eyes with his topic "Unlocking the Secrets of Google Workspace for Education." He shared tips and tricks on using Google Docs, Google Slides, and YouTube to save time and improve teaching and learning in schools.

Cikgu TS Jebat, Leader of GEG Kota Kinabalu Malaysia, then ignited the educators' passion with his presentation entitled "Towards 100% Google Certified." He shared his journey and concrete steps to achieve the Google certification target for teachers

Beyond Education

Malindo Connect 2 was not just about education and professional development, but also about building friendships and strengthening relationships between educators in the two countries. The speakers delivered their presentations exceptionally well.

Maulana Ayub conducted two polls before and after his presentation. The first poll was to gauge the participants' mental well-being, and the results showed that most of them were mentally healthy. He explained that his tips and tricks could greatly help educators save time in the teaching and learning process. In the end, he conducted a second poll to see if the participants were already using the tips and tricks he shared. The results showed that most of the participants were not yet familiar with them but were willing to try them out.

Cikgu Jebat shared his inspiring journey as a school principal, highlighting his skills, certifications, experience, and innovations in helping teachers in Kota Kinabalu become Google Certified Educators Level 1 and Level 2. He gradually encouraged educators from each school in Kota Kinabalu to take the L1 and L2 training, and even go beyond L2 to become Google Certified Trainers. This was all achieved through collaboration between the Malaysian Ministry of Education, educators, and school stakeholders.
